-24*f group hang in the U.P.

Seven of us crazy fellers from 4 different states got together for some backwoods winter camping in Upper Michigan on valentine's weekend ( don't ask what we had to do to get away from the wives / girlfriends ...). The forecast for Saturday was a high of -3* with winds at 15-25 mph, and gusts over 40mph, overnight low of -15. Boy was that wrong! Friday night the wind died down and we really didn't have much wind the rest of the weekend. Saturday the high was -1*, then the overnight low dropped down to -24*, a record for most if not all of us.

Much fire wood was burned. Much bacon, steak, and chaga were consumed. Way too much man humor took place around the fire, we had a blast.

Looks like a good time was had by all. You can always spot lonetracker by those mitts hanging off his neck.

Looks like you had a great time. I like the cool cookpot setup over the fire--very creative.

Looks like quite the trip. I love the UP! Even southern Michigan was brutal cold over the weekend....I can't even imagine -24. If you want to join us trolls under the bridge, a bunch of us are heading to Vanderbilt next weekend, may even be a heat wave in the 20's: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ee-Winter-Hang
