    Boondox stand clone

Hey everyone from the, currently, frozen southeast. Been doing a lot of reading and learning here and have gathered much knowledge from you all. For that I thank you. Thought it was a good time to give back. I was surfing YouTube and came across this http://www.boatstogo.com/folding-hammock.asp. It appears to be a Boondox clone, but they're selling them for $69 plus $29 ground ship. May be a viable option for places that don't allow hangin‘ from trees or a back yard set up. I wouldn't think it would hard to modify for longer hammocks. Anyway... happy hangin‘.

Fantastic deal! That price and weight can't be beat. From what little I've read about the Boondox it isn't that high of a lay with a 10' hammock. I wonder if our butts would be on the ground with an eleven footer.

Dutch, will you let us know how the quality looks (and if it looks like it would work with an 11' if it was modded) when you get the stand?

I know with the smaller Boondox stand I had to make a 9 and half foot hammock for someone. They make a bigger one or extenders I believe. This stand is also quite a bit lighter so maybe quality is compromised. For $100 I am willing to try it out. And then let the modding begin. First up, there needs to be a way to tarp it.

I am starting to become a collector of hammock stands.

Interesting, but it looked short and appeared to be very 'flexible' in the video. It will be interesting to see some reviews.

Are you talking about the girl or the stand?

I think the flex in the stand is due to the ends being overlapped where the BD ends are attached in the same plane. Looking forward to your evaluation, Dutch.
