It's a subjective measure of comfort, but I can give you my take. Hammocking is more comfortable than sleeping on the ground, unless you're using some monster inflatable pad or something like that, but it's not as good (for me) as I had expected. I still wake up with some morning aches, but nowhere near as bad as when I was sleeping on the ground.
The big advantage for me is that here in the ozarks there are rocks everywhere and there are few places big and flat enough to lay on the ground. Trees, however, are plentiful!
