Tarp with doors...warmth?

I have a tarp with doors and hugging the ground. Would this give me more warmth than a Hennessey asym tarp?
Would a tarp with doors give me any warmth at all?

Yes. You'll get added warmth from it blocking wind. And the more it's hugged to your hammock the more body heat it will hold in, just beware of condensation.

Warmth doesn't come from clothing, tarps, quilts etc. All those things do is prevent air from circulating so your body can heat the still air inside your shirts, jacket sleeping bag, etc. The more layers (or barriers) you create to stop the moving air from reaching your body and the immediate air around you, the less likely a gust of wind can penetrate all those layers and move the warm air you've generated away from you.

It's all about wind protection, wind can steal heat faster than anything. So think of doors as a way to conserve heat.

I have one tarp without doors, the last time I had it out was 2010, but on the other hand I almost always have the doors on my tarp pulled back. I just like the security of being able to button things up if I need to so my insulation has the opportunity to do what it is designed to do.

I have found that my Superfly adds to maintaining warmth with the doors down for sure. Most noticeable with a breeze or wind. Also in the morning with dew

Anytime it's below 15° or so, any "extra" heat is of no concern to me. At this point, cold is just COLD. I'm more interested in cutting down condensation. I'll bring my superfly down to about 8" of the ground. I may push snow up on 2 ends to block the wind. Other than that, I let it breathe a bit and may even keep a door open for some air flow.
