How small does the KAQ pack?
I'm down to that or down. I'd really rather not deal with the down if the KAQ will get small enough for me(just got the materials for a DIY G4 pack).
Thanks.

Here's a comparison of an older version KAQ next to a 1L Nalgene and a JRB Nest. Not sure how the new version's bulk compares to the old version but I'm sure you'll get your answer soon...

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
That comparison looks right.
EDIT: I do carry mine in a stuff sack, compressed only when hiking. That's when it looks like the comparison picture.

I've never compressed one into a really tight package, so can't give a definitive answer on that. I prefer to loose pack mine. I find it takes up less space that way. I put my foodbag in first and then the KAQ - no stuffsack at all. Then, I add the rest of my stuff and push it in there until I have it all packed. The KAQ will spread out and use up all those little nooks and crannies that exist when you hard pack things.
Thanks, guys.
