Thermarest for Ridgerunner

Been thinking I might want to try a Neoair Xlite or Xtherm in the RR as I keep hearing from folks on here how comfortable they are to sleep on. Will also be taking the kids for for some section hiking on the AT this summer and they have told me they want to tent (as if I haven't spent enough money already getting away from that

) so the pad will serve one of them well for that.

Anyone have any pics or video that would help sell me on one of these two pads being used with a RR? I'm especially curious as to how much the pad makes your lay more "bed-like".

I am still researching - are you satisfied with the mummy shape rather than a rectangular shape like the All Season?

Would love to see a review of this in action. Do you find that the pad eliminates the need to lean back onto the side of the hammock while side sleeping? That seems to be the only way I can sleep on my side without my bottom arm being uncomfortable. Also, have you experienced any condensation with this type of pad? I tried some reflectix indoors just so see, and I ended up bailing to the couch in the middle of the night due to "claminess".
Is your pad the 2015 model? I read somewhere that Thermarest has quieted their newer model somewhat.

Had a XTherm with me last week in my bridge, took it down to 2*F, -11*F chill, mummy shaped and 20oz. The lay is awesome. I use a rectangle one as well, makes the lay nice, tuff to tell the difference between the two

I was a little concerned about the mummy shape too, but found it not a problem at all. Considering there isn't much weight at your feet it doesn't fold in much if at all.

As for sleeping position I've only slept on it once in my garage. When I turn from side to side I would adjust how far out my butt was to keep it level. I assume over time I'll get more used to it and sleeping adjustments will be more minor.

I know people have talked about the noise, however I think it might be more prevalent when used on the ground. Mine is a 2015 model and I can hear it crinkling when playing with it. But once in my hammock I don't know if I heard it at all.

I am curious about this also....to be realistic, I think all pads have some degree of wetness in a hammock, but what is the driest pad?
