Bought supply's tonight to rig up my sons room. I have been using a hook through eye bolt in my room to much success but this hardware isn't visually justifiable by internet pictures alone. It is heavy duty rolled steel channel with the hardware to back it up. I spent an hour searching for this tonight since no one in my local Lowes has ever heard of a Superstrut. I had to pull up the item number in the phone before it could be found within the building. My son and I are looking forward to installing tomorrow.

Only took about an hours worth of effort. A very easy install. Thanks OP, I like this a lot better then my previous setups. I would have never knew of this stuff.

Hey Brockleigh, I don't know how long you've been hanging and I don't mean any disrespect at all! BUT, the way your netting is hanging from your whoopie sling in your picture here:
brockleigh's set up.jpg
is not safe. The weight of the netting is going to compress the bury of the whoopie, causing it to slip.
An alternative is to attach a shorter net suspension to the tail of the whoopie (between the hammock and the bury). This should not change much from one hang to another. You can attach directly or via a prussik knot on the tail of the whoopie sling. (that's what I do).
I know this is off-topic of the thread but I don't want you or your son to end up on your keister! Happy hangin!

No worries, thanks for the concern. I just set it up like that in the heat of the moment. I always run it to the biner. I can't stand using the shock cord with this netting anyway. When I can find my gorilla tape and tap some holes in the netting I will run an internal ridge line negating all of it. Thanks again.

Cool! By the way, your son's indoor set looks terrific! He's gonna love it!

Hey Trav848, How about an update on the use of this superstrut system? Still working well? Any changes or failures?

I am also looking for an update on this as I just moved into a two bedroom apartment (of which one bedroom has now been established as my outdoor/DIY project lair)! I am looking for a good way to hang my hammock indoors.
In still happy with it but the primary user is only 45lb. I've since spoken with many involved in Facilities management and they say as long as your attachment point is secure, these things rock. So hit that stud straight on.
To be certain I just took many measurements with a stud finder. It also helped that there is some odd discoloring happening on my paint in that room right on every stud.

Ok thanks!
