I haven't heard of this product before, but here's a couple of observations. It appears to be made with polyurethane coated fabric which may leave you sleeping in a puddle of your own sweat. A hammock body should be made out of a breathable material.

The manufacturer has taken it's promotional photos with the person laying in line instead of on the diagonal. This tells me they know very little about hammocks and you may not even be able to lay on the diagonal. Laying in line in a banana position hyper extends the knees and gets seriously uncomfortable quickly.

The idea is nice. That's my positive comment.

Having a waterproof material is asking for all kinds of condensation issues. Also, it seems to be too short (by the pictures) and possibly not wide enough for a good diagonal lay.

At a weight of over 2.5 lbs for a hammock and tarp is normal for the set. That said, it's the same issue as a tent with no overhead cover when you get out. A hammock and tarp allows us to get out of the hammock nice and dry and still do what you need to like cook, dress, sit and watch the show around you all under the tarp. And your gear stays dry and not shoved in the hammock with you.

Not for me since I would need a tarp and 2.5+lbs hammock plus tarp is not what I consider lightweight. YMMV.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Nylon straps, 2.6 lbs., non-breathable fabric. Sounds like a portable sauna to me.

It sounds like it would be like a top loading Hennessy or Clark, right, just a lot less expensive. Truth is its a cheap hammock and suspension with minimal cheap material used as a (clautrophobic) tarp. I have no doubt that the heavy material is waterproof, but my guess based on some of the reviews is that the design isn't.

I can not add much, looks like a bathtub. Heavy duty, not well thought out, definite draw for the inexperienced.

I you want to get started, the hammock and sock Dutch WareGear offers is just a very few dollars more and you will have something to build onto, if you want something more as you grow into Hanging.
