    Question warm hands, COLD NOSE!!!

OKay.... lets hear it - How do you keep your nose warm on those chilly to down right COLD nights... A COLD nose is my #1 peev in winter camping...
Ive tried a face mask but they are quite annoying when you wake up and get freaked out that you have gone blind only to realize the mask is all twisted over your face...

Maybe there are better masks out there I should look for, but I thought that it would be cool if there was just some kind of balm or somethin you could rub on to create some kind of wind/cold barrier.... ?

    any suggestions?

I pull my quilt or bag over my head. That sounds simple, but you have to kind of make a tunnel so moist air can get out while the air around your face is kept warm... well warmer anyhow.

Try icy hot. It will keep your nose warm at least half of the time

I use a face mask, but i have also cinched my mummy bag closed with an air hole and a shirt over the hole, works pretty well.

My scoutmaster actually had one of those nose socks. I think she said her grandma made it for her.

If you are a 100% back-sleeper (this won't work if you roll-over) try this:

Apply a 'thick'ish' layer of vaseline (petroleum jelly) covering all the areas that get cold. DO NOT GET IN YOUR EYES!

Swimmers who cross the English Channel do this as it keeps your skin from being exposed and thus is a layer of insulation.
