Another Virginian joins the ranks! I’ve been lurking here for a few months now and decided to join the discussion, continue to learn and hopefully contribute a bit. I have been on the fence for a few years and have slowly been trying different hammocks from friends, doing research here and there and have decided to make the jump to hanging in the backcountry. Most recently I’ve been happy using my Big Agnes Seedhouse SL1 as a nice lightweight setup. (You can see my green “ground dwelling” in a thread from hang ‘em high a few months back: First hang of the Fall)
After trying numerous models of hammocks from most of the popular manufacturers, and being a bit on the taller side (6’4”), I decided on a WBBB XLC, complimented with a superfly and HG Incubator 20 (long, +2oz). Also, what setup would be complete without a bit of Dutch bling! Thanks to Brandon, Adam and Dutch for some great gear. Love supporting small businesses that make great products.
Also, special shout out to Shug and Derek for the informative, entertaining videos and great resources for hammockers.
