best hammock stand to carry around

hey everyone, I've been away for a bit, as the title says I'm looking for the easiest stand to make and carry, since most camping sites near my place have few trees to hang from, I'd like to make a stand to take along in case the trees won't cooperate
    thanks in advance

I have the same problem and would buy a stand set-up if I can find one at a reasonable price. Don't mind making one but problem is I need to do everything in two's as I camp with my son and he needs to carry his own weight.

    I've got the same problem.

I would suggest building a pair of Turtledog Stands.

Hammeck makes a DIY stand which I made in just about an hours time. They also have a pre-made stand. I think both are reasonably priced

This is what I'm leaning towards as well, the Hammeck diy kit is very affordable, looks stable and very strong. Im just broke right now or I'd be all over it.

I'm hoping to scrounge together the pieces to try making a sort of ultralight version of the hammeck stand in a few months. I'm trying to get my hands on some lightweight aluminum pole sections (from a camo-netting support kit) and weld up some end brackets. It should be light and very portable but I'm not sure if those poles are strong enough for the task.

I have the full Hammeck stand. It is sturdy enough to hang from and comes with a carrying bag. The tallest pole is 42 inches, so it is quite compact in the bag. I would not want to carry it far, though.

don't forget the turtle dog stands made from the aluminum mast poles, breaks down into 4 foot sections and stashes nicely in a rugged military bag. love mine. and they are bulletproof basically lol

I made a single pole stand this weekend that compacted nicely into a 6' x 1 1/4 package. Everything nested into one pole. I found the write up on here. I can post a picture later if you are interested.
