Ok, I know Ive decided on the MacCat, I just cant decide on the size (although, its probably going to be the deluxe). Could you do the skins for the hammock, and then a stuff sack for the tarp? Or would that tangle all of the strings.
When people say camping is for sissys, what does that make them....?

You could do it. Just take time to wrap the guy lines before stuffing it (thats what I do with no problems). BD

1 - I'm happy with the Standard....it's been plenty big enough for me.

2 - Hang your tarp separately.

3 - Store it separately. Then you can hang it up w/o getting anything else out of your pack, and open your pack under the tarp and out of the rain. And you can pack everything up in the morning under the tarp, and take it down last. And you don't get everything wet when you pack it after it rains. Skins or a stuff sack both work...I often don't carry anything for it and just stick it in my pack's outer mesh pocket.

I use skins for my hammock and just carefully wrap the strings around my Black Cat tarp and stuff in the mesh pocket on the outside of my pack. Ready to go if it starts raining and I want a quick shelter.

You would be much better off storing the tarp separate from the hammock, especially if it is wet. Put it in it's own stuff bag or snake skins. Keep it in an outside pocket on your pack so you can get to it easy to set up in case it's raining. That way you don't have to dig into your pack and get other stuff wet.

The Hennessy and the MacCat both come with their own sacks.

Ok, so if I use the skins for the hammock, then thats an extra back for random stuff. Then I can use the stuff sack that comes with the fly for the fly. That sounds good. Thanks guys.

Here is my two cents on the MacCat. I had a standard and I thought it was to small so I sold it, Now I have a homemade deluxe and I love it. I think the deluxe is worth the extra money.
