    which tarp???

i'm positive this has been asked before but i want to know which tarp is going to work best with my Warbonnet Blackbird. i'm not sure if i should get the maccat in a standard or a deluxe also should i get the guyline kit that he sells in addition???

in any case im sure that you can tell i'm a noob but i need this as there is a hang coming up in the new england area and i want to make it out so i can learn more about this...

i refuse to sleep on the ground anymore...

    thanks for the input.

The Deluxe offers better coverage, but the Standard is *just* long enough to work.

The OES guyline kit is fine, if you don't already have cording on hand.

If you're gonna get a MacCat, then you can't go wrong with a Deluxe, IMO. Better too much coverage than not enough.

If u have the bucks, dont mind the increased noise from rain hitting it, want it fully waterPROOFED, and lighter than sil, get the spin version.

Dunno about you, but I've been hammocking for almost 4 years now. I've used a sil tarp for the majority of it and have never had a problem with one. Slept in many a downpour and haven't been wet under my sil tarp once. No shame in a well maintained sil tarp.

    Jacks'R'Better 8'X8'

The 8'X8' is big enough and only uses two stakes.

Sometimes less is more. Sometimes I prefer a big tarp.

Not sure I'd like an 8x8 in the winter ... kinda nice to snug everything down and stop that cold cold wind!

If you're happy with the hammock, why not go back to brandon for the tarp? I have his big Mambajamba tarp, and I haven't come up with even a single complaint about it.
