I've been using note ize 2.8mm line with groundhog stakes and standard aluminum guy line toggles.
Just bought zing it, line locs and titanium stakes to hopefully save 8 oz
I recently switched back from a CRL and hardware to knots. I use whatever feels right at the time. Been messing around with a tautline hitch around one tree recently. I get a good centered tarp pretty quickly. The one thing that always turned me off from CRLs was having to thread the entire 30ft length of cord through everything...so much line to mess with.
For the corner tieouts I have a fixed loop around the stake, and some prusiks attached to the d rings so I can pull them tight from underneath the tarp easily.
Probably the 15th different way I've done it...I love using knots though!
Keep on keepin' on.
Just got some fleaz and am trying these out....
Made from 2.2mm Dynema and theraband green tube with the Flea spliced onto the end. Unloaded length is 5.5 inches, fully stretched it's 8 inches and pulls 6.5lbs. Weight is 5g including Flea. Only just made it up today so not tested on a tarp yet, but I'm liking it a lot.
I could have made em about an inch shorter, but I've made space behind the flea for attaching a tarp door clip (in between the flea and the knot tied in the bury)...
If you dont have tarp doors, or anchor your doors on their own stakes, you could make em an inch shorter and dispense with the stopper knot.

One of the few things I carry with me from experience with tents to hammocks are these handy accessories: Hilleberg 3mm Guyline and their Line Runners. You only need a single knot for the line runner; no shock cord, no elaborate rope twists, and I haven't ever experienced a sagged tarp or a loose line. I only need to pull to tighten or seperate to loosen my lines. Works even when wearing larger mittens.
More info at Hilleberg's site: http://us.hilleberg.com/products/accessories/
EDIT: Heh, I ought to mention the need to use a few knots with this setup: the midshipman's or gnat hitch for the ends, and a double clove hitch for the pegs. Useful knots to know anyway.

I really like the nite ize figure 9 size small. You can get them with 8` of 1/8 inch hi viz cord. Super easy to use. Look on REI website.

While I don't have fleas on my tarp at the moment I'm thinking of adding one for my Ridgeline to replace my stingerz. I personally opt for attaching them to the tarp side so they can be adjusted while I'm still under the tarp should the need arise during a storm. I think it would take several years of hard use before they did any damage to a silnylon tarp this way but that's just my opinion. Cuben fiber might be a different story...
