There should be a trip report after - I'm gonna use my daughters go pro - I know my solar charger can keep my phone going - just testing this week if I can keep my phone and a go pro charged.

Is the 4 days because that's what you have time for or are you wanting the challenge?
When I was there last May ( 2 weeks later than the week I'm going this year ) there was no ice / snow and the trail was in really good condition - a little muddy in spots
4 day due to time as well as the challenge I've had this trip in my head for the last 2 years - basically long days for the first 2 then a little easier for the next two

thanks Jayson - I'm so looking forward to this trip - hopefully we meet up at a hang in the summer

I would like to take longer but due to timing I only have 4 days. I've started training for this - I'm in good shape after a winter of snowboarding. Been on the treadmill everyday since I booked the trip - I can jog 5KM no problem - it's my first trip that I'm actually getting in shape for.

Sturgeon - amazing pics - I seen them before when I was researching my trip - I can't wait to see the scenery for myself. I've done the crack 2x and stayed at george and bunnyrabbit, it's gonna be nice to see all the trail!

perhaps there will be an EGL 1 week trail hike in the future
    ( I saw the spring canoe trip ! - I won't be able to make it )

Are you going to go the counter clockwise on the trail and start with the crack since you'll be carrying a light load?

    Going Clockwise

But definitely going light - my base weight right now ( with pack ) is just over 12 lbs - there's a few more things I need to add ( camera / gps / batteries / hatchet). But technically those are toys I for fun ! Not a necessity

I'm dying to try that loop. the timing isn't great for me (I'll be paddling Bell-David-Boundary from the 1st-3rd). I sort of have my eye on the Sept long weekend for that!

Hope you don't mind one of your neighbors in Michigan trolling on the thread. I was researching possible trips for this year and this is on my bucket list. In fact, I just got off the phone with your parks regarding the reservation system. Question: do you recommend going through the reservation system or just showing up and hoping for the best? I'm looking at June or July, maybe 5-6 days.

    I'd definitely make reservations.

Definitely make reservations. Its a busy place in the summer. The last thing you want is to get there and find that you have an un-hikable distance to get between available sites.

Yes definitely make the reservations. It's so busy sometimes for the shorter hike sites that you can get burned just taking a few minutes extra to call. Last year I had called to see what sites were available along one part of the trail for a specific weekend. I then talked to a friend to see which he wanted to do...I called back and the site we wanted was now gone for that night.

    La Cloche Silhouette - May 4 2015

When I did my reservation for May I got all the sites I initially wanted. I booked about six weeks before my trip. If I were to go later in the summer I would definitely book the second I knew I was going.

Less than a month away now

Going to get the rest of what I need for my menu this weekend. Then start up the dehydrator on Monday!
