Is it possible?
I have a dilemma. Is it possible to make a hammock and stand fit into a 6'-6" area? The subject is 3'-6" tall.

I'm not really sure what you're asking.

Depends on what kind of area you are dealing with. Is there walls, if so, what are they made of? Do you need to squeeze stands in that area? If my math is correct you could build a 7' hammock to fit in a 6' space.

Thanks for the replies. I have a child that sleeps in my bed and need her out. She is 3'6" tall. The area I have available is enough for a no frills toddler bed or a cot. I was wanting to make her something unique since she loves my hammock. The room available is 6'-6" long and 3'-0" wide. Is it possible for something like this to work?
Edit: I'm not sticking her in a closet, it's just the amount of room left in front of the dresser and next to the bed, leaving a 3'-0" gap between the bed and the allotted space for her hammock or bed.

I'm not aware of any commercially-available hammock that would fit well in that sapce. A DIY bridge hammock should be feasible, if you have the necessary skiils. I would go for a bridge hammock rather than a gathered end, since the short space would accentuate the curve in a gathered end hammock, so a bridge would probably give a better lay. That's an assumption on my part, as I don't have a hammock that size to test itout, but it's a reasonably educated guess.

I do have some diy skills, especially with wood. I have made my own tarp, underquilt and various stuffsacks. I understand that this will need to be a completely custom setup, I just have no idea how to figure length of hammock, distance between mounts, etc.

Hanging length of a hammock is the full length x 0.83. The problem here is how to hang it. Do we have walls? Or do you need to squeeze a stand in this space?

It is against the same wall that has the door. {mentally picture} we have a wall, on the right we have a door that opens inwards and to the right against the right wall. On the left side, we have a dresser that ends ~26" from the wall. There is then 6'-6" of space from the front of the dresser to the edge of the door trim. On the right side, we would block the door if we went to the wall with the suspension. On the left, I'd have to remove the mirror from the dresser to get to that wall. Wife is terrified of putting holes in the walls, she even used the stick on supports for all of our pictures and decorations.
I know I may be asking for the impossible.
Thanks ahead of time.

I'd use the ceiling joists and use eye bolts(assuming your wife wouldn't have a problem with that)

I did it in my apartment during college and it held me now problem at 200lbs
