    Tim, et al,

This is true.... We decide last Trail days that we would register together and use connected, compatable tents.... We are going to be the Anchor Store on the TD Mall.... It has been coordinated since last June with the town clerk/TD Coordinator.

BTW, Jacks R Better has decide to open its Trail Days Sale Specials to those who live too far to make it to TD.... via the internet.... In fact, it is up and running now though the 20th...All the three season quilts are $50 off and lots of other items really reduced....Still looking good to introduce the new hammock and hammock tent at TD...

Man...I'm bummed for all of you who can't make it. I was really looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Does anyone know if there really is going to be a designated hanging campground this year? I remember there being talk about it earlier this year.
    This is my signature.

my understanding is that they will keep open an area in the woods for white blaze & hammock forum members. but i don't know just how it's going to look.
the woods surrounding damascus is prime territory for poison ivy<g>.
here's a post from the thread titled "traildays logistics"...

i emailed Local, then gave him a call to get a better idea what to expect when we get to the camp ground at trail days.
he said they do plan to spray the poison ivy the first week of may & there should be enough volunteers coming in early the week leading up to trail days that they should be able to clear out some of the dead ivy & other weeds.
but if anyone is able to go to damascus a day or so early & help, well... many hands make light work.
even though they plan to clear out an area, i would still suggest that we think about how we move around in camp.
the vines & dead leaves still have the oil that causes the rash. that's a fact.
so i will at the least always have shoes to step into when i stand up from my hammock, & i'll be thoughtful of the stuff as i walk around.
i'll plan to have plenty soap & water ready to use any time i think i may have made contact w/ it.
i may even take a square of outdoor carpet to have beneath my hammock<g>.
and if i can't avoid using a tree to hang from that has the vines on it, i'll just put the support webbing in a bag when i break camp & wash it when i get home.

The area in the woods that they are going to be holding for WhiteBlaze and Hammock Forums is located as follows.

Go through the campground gate and turn left and pretty much keep walking straight until you hit the creek and it is some where in that area.

For those that know where Mala's area it. I am told it is behind that and next to the creek.

I will be there sometime Friday before noon.

attroll, it seems quite a few groups have asked Local to hold certain areas. The directions you mentioned sounds like the area the folks from TT have "reserved".

If anyone remembers last yr there wasn't a quiet area anywhere in tent city.

the term quiet area/camprounds at Trail Days is very misleading

Thanks for the heads up. Can someone who knows Local ask him about this?
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

the group that left a mess back in the woods last yr were up partying until sunrise..you could hear them all over tent city. Plus the drums beating at the fire ring echos through out the area. You don't get a lot of sleep but isn't that why hikers go to relax, party and hangout.

If you want peace and quiet don't stay at tent city.
