Using a Gossamer Gear Torso Pad with 3/4 Quilt

Just picked up one of the Gossamer Gear Torso pads (cosmetic issues) at a very good price. In mild weather I've used my Thermarest sit pad inside my topquilt with my 3/4 underquilt and been very comfortable. No condensation issues at all. Was wondering about cutting the torso pad down to fit inside my topquilt and extend up to my knees. Thinking about this since it folds very compact (well, at least compact for a pad). Anybody use one of these inside a topquilt. Just wonder about condensation. Haven't had condensation with the sit pad inside the footbox.

Should work fine. I haven't he same thing. Coverage from heels to mid thigh with my 2/3 UQ. Not much condensation but it is there.

Yep works great! I see you're from the south east...I get condensation down here really no matter what in cooler weather. Folks always told me a pad inside the quilt helped but I never really saw a big difference. I'd try it without cutting it down first...makes a great ground pad just in case you don't want to hang your hammock.

TNX. If I want to use it inside the quilt, I'll have to trim one end a bit. I do like how compact it folds. I've only experienced a low of 30F and I've not had any condensation inside the topquilt using a thermarest sit pad. I did use two small ccf pads inside the quilt one night and had some condensation. I didn't have any condensation with only 1 ccf pad.
