    Are Tadpoles factory seam-sealed?

If not, what sealer is the preferred choice? Do I seal outside, inside, or both?

    Thanks

No they are not. I went the first couple of years without sealing mine and had no problems. After I had it a few years I sent it back to have side panel pulls added on (which did need sealing) and decided to just do my ridge at that time. It didn't need it, I was just looking for something to do I guess

It is a terrific tarp - I really, really like mine. I hope this helped.

I would also like to hear what the preferred sealer product of choice is. I have a tadpole with panel pulls and have had it in a few rain storms without any leaks but I know that I should probably at least seal the pulls.

I use silnet and have had good results. Others have used permitx (sp) from auto parts stores and liked it. If you click my youtube link in my sig I have a video showing exactly how I seal a tarp ridge-line and panel pulls. I hope this helped you out.

If I ever feel the need to seal mine, I will be using Permatex flowable sil.
IT can be found at most auto stores.

When I put my Tadpole up it never rains so I've been just fine without sealing it.

I had mine out for a weekend of absolute downpour recently. I was dry as a bone! I'm fairly confident without seam sealing mine, given results like that.

Of course, I don't have pullouts on it. That might be a different story.
It's bad luck to be superstitious.

I used the Permatex flowable silicone to seal the tie-outs. I've been in several "frog chokers" and have not seen any leaks. I have gone away from the continuous ridgeline using a cord on each end. Well pleased with my Tadpole.

I've had mine hung for 2 1/2 months one summer in Maine and went thru one of the hardest summer storms I had experienced in Maine. Rain during our hanging season in Florida is minimal but at the Sherpa Hang 2 years ago we had a 45 minute toad strangler. In four years never a leak and the Tadpole has never been sealed.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

I'll use silent if either my Tadpole or my new Bullfrog ever leaks. I've had the Tadpole going on 4 summers and it never leaked a drop.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.
