    strap for Dutch Clips

    Ok folks,

Not sure if this should be in the suspension thread or not....SO....

What straps work well with the Dutch Clips?
I have Hennessy straps but they seem a tad bit....wide.

    Any suggestions?

Moderator if you feel this post should be in suspension thread please move..
    Thanks,'

It was designed for 1" straps. You must have an explorer which uses 1.5" straps. PM sent.

My clips have worked great with the webbing I have from WarbonnetGuy and the strapworks 1 in. poly

The clips were originally made for webbing based suspensions. Not so much for rope and hugger although they may be used for that. But I personally would pull the hugger thfough the other loop and not bother with any clip or biner. 2Q sold me on the idea that they could be used well with a marlin spike hitch ir the whoopie sling, but you would need longer huggers then the standard HH huggers. I would say the first thing to do is concider changing out a stock suspension to really get the usefulness out of the clips. I really like them for the tri-ring/cinch buckle/ rings suspension where it is kind of a pain to pull the webbing out of the device.

Gotta say I love my Dutch Clips for rope and hugger.

They make it real easy to adjust the height of the hugger even after you've tied the hammock rope to it. Simply unclip, reposition, and clip. No worries about working the hugger over rough bark or around branches.

I've got 1-1/2" huggers on my DIY HH clone. I'll be switching those out to 1" straps just so I can use the Dutch Clips.

p.s. Another use for the Clip I like: I tie a short loop of line through a grommet I put in the bottom of my Platy hydration pack. I hang the hydration pack from the tip of the Dutch Clip. It provide an instant convenient water supply and faucet while in camp.

fraid not- the store has a short video on how they work- depend on the strap being under tension, so keep the biners for use at home (somehow that just sounds wrong..)

I spent the whole summer hammock camping, starting out with my eno, then my new blackbird, and sometimes both (base camp and trail gear) . I didn't get my dutch clips in time to give them a good work out like I wanted, bummer. I'll keep the biners close to home, just because "someow that just sounds wrong" and they could come in handy for just "those times"!

If the clip goes throught the eye of the eye bolt then you can pass it through and hook it like the video. That is a good looking chap in the video.
