NEW AND LOOKING FOR GREAT CAMPING IN ONTARIO CANADA

So I have never done this so please bear with me.

My hammock and I will be traveling to Toronto in July for a wedding, but I would also like to get out of town and do some solo camping. I am looking to drive no more then 4 hours away from Toronto.

Can anyone out there recommend some good locations to hang my hammock!?

Has anyone ever stayed at Bruce Peninsula National Park?

Hope this works. Thanks so much new friends!

There is so many good parks in the area. Bruce Peninsula is alright but its more of a trailer/ Tent camping park. Depending on how adventurous you are i would suggest maybe Killarney, Massassuaga, Queen Elizabeths Wildlands, Algonquin or even kawartha High lands. There is also alot of back ways to get into some of these parks for free and also tons of Crown land if your interested.

Bruce Peninsula NP is a gorgeous park, there isn't ever a Calendar of Ontario that is is produced without including a picture of the shore line. I highly recommend that place. The Bruce Trail runs through that park and is a hiking trail that runs from Niagara Falls to Tobermory along a natural feature called the Niagara Escarpment. There are some absolutely stunning places along that trail and there is camping allowed in several places, not like camping on the Appalachian Trail but still good. I have been away from there for too long to give you good up to date information but it is out there. Maybe several on this board who are regular hikers of the trail.

I recently visited the park in question and one of the campers hung his hammock between the designated sites.

We stayed at the "stormhaven" site and it was stunning. Just to keep in mind though, there is a permanent fire ban at this place. Hope this helps.
