A Te-Wa UQ should work better on a Bridge than on a gathered-end hammock. They are flat rectangles.

I'm sure most quilts work better on a bridge than a gathered end hammock

Well, that's true, most underquilts are flat rectangles and most hammocks are gathered-ended.

I didn't have the best luck with my WB CS Yeti like torso UQ on my BMBH. Maybe I just needed to work on it some more, but my initial trials didn't seem to be getting the usual warmth out of the UQ. It sealed great on the ends, and at least as good (EDIT: as good as a MWUQ) on the sides. But I seemed to be getting some kind of space/gap right in the middle, along my spine, so that it was not in contact with my back. I suspect it had something to do with the UQ being designed for a diagonal position.

Maybe I'll try again this winter. Any body used one of these, WB CS torso or a Yeti, on a bridge? If so, how did it work?

I used a homemade summerweight CS differential UQ cut on a bridge, worked OK when I was in deadman position on my back, but when lying on my side there were coldspots. They seemed to come from my arms protruding and deforming the hammock and quilt fabric. The CS in the quilt was not laying as close (conforming) to the deformity as much as a down quilt does, presumably because of the CS's stiffness. I was going the rework it without the differental cut to see if helped hold the CS closer but haven't gotten around to it.

the bmbh is actually my first test model for the 3/4 te-wa quilt. i do think that it is easier to make a good match/fit for a flat rectangle on a flat rectangle. when you use a rectangle attached to a trapezoid, things become more difficult. that is to say that the issues were dissolved thru testing, trial and error. im sure a JrB MW3 convertible would be magic on a BMBH but i will say the partial pad in the bridge with a shortie UQ combo was my first design. Flat, right angles on the te-wa would certainly work on the BMBH, although the stock bungee system would have to be entertainingly modified, as in it would take a longer set of bungees on the foot end.
correct me if im wrong, but the tapered shape of a barrel shaped UQ would not work on a hammock like the BMBH.
Mine works well for any hammock, since it allows the user to custom tune the end drawcords to match any width, gathered end or otherwise.

Sorry Te-wa, I have been calling your quilts 2/3 length but it looks as if they are 3/4 length

Te-wa (a.k.a. hanger formerly known as mikeinfhaz...)

Wonder what you mean by "barrel-shaped" here, and why the geometry of a bridge hammock would interfere with its effectiveness?

I've made a couple of tapered UQ for my bridge hammocks----wider at the shoulders than at the knees---they have side channel suspension and work well for me.
