It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet
OK - so this was supposed to be the first picture chronicling the journey down the Wading river.
Unfortunately, it is the ONLY picture of our journey. It also happens to be the last one before we went swimming and had things other than pictures on our mind.

That fancy camera sure took some impressive photos. Nice job. That was fun, and thanks again for all of the food.
And I didn't realize you went in twice in two days, losing a hat each day! ("I swear, I haven't gone down in thirty years..." silvrsurfr ensures us....) That's funny, not as funny as your canoe in a tree though....
There was a moment, at Godfrey Bridge, where folks were suggesting we make a rescue call for njredneck to come get us (more specifically, me). I was clearly suffering from hypothermia, much more than Pretbek and fishkiller. However, even in my dazed state, I didn't want to take njredneck away from dinner preparations and we were only five miles from camp, averaging 10 to 15 minutes per mile.
I may have to gain a few pounds for extra insulation; there's obviously a downside to being as trim and lean as I am!

Another great weekend!
Good to meet the new folks and thanks to those that traveled a distance.
Shout out to Great Big Dave and son for stopping by and offering assistance and to Moose for the visit, extra gear and extra firewood. We burned it all as directed by the Park Office.
NOTE: custom fishing rod (of any type) giveaway is still active for attendees. Post the word "hammock" to the site in my sig and you're in.
Have sherpas, will travel...

Well this was the most "interesting" trip report I have ever read on this forum.. Jane and I were laughing our butts off, due only to the story depiction and not from the suffering I assure you. Glad everyone got out of this hang without a trip to the hospital.

Yeah, a lot of lessons learned. Or relearned, in the case of securing electronics. I know better than that.
A couple of swimmers were wearing cotton. I imagine they'll be rethinking that next time they go winter paddling. I know I'm going to be doing some serious reassessment of my winter paddling setup. While I did have some dry clothes, I didn't have enough to recover from the second baptism. I also realize that a dry bag doesn't mean squat if it's not secured in the canoe somehow. What's the point of a dry bag if it floats downstream and is lost forever?

Was a wonderful trip, great company, wisdom, Food!, new friends and old. and of course some comedy to top it off.
Thanks to Mr Redneck for the amazing food and BACCON!
and oh crab cakes thanks to the birthday boy.
I'm happy to have met some of you in person, I look forward to spending a bit more time sometime. I don't think I'm up for the kind of chills and thrills you seem to favor. My son and I did have a good time on the white Batsto Lake loop - 131 feet total elevation, nice for a gravity enhanced individual like myself.
As for that canoe in the tree photo, I can explain. Those fine individuals were trying to make sure that boat didn't climb any higher. I saw them stake it down after they caught it. Maybe it's unhappy with the extra saddle, there was some reason it threw you.
