What Determines Right / Left Lay in Dream Hammock?

can anyone with a Dream Hammock tell me what determines the right or left lay in their hammocks? Is there a "foot box" like my Blackbird Xlc? I have a Thunderbird on order and didnt read anything that would denote a right or left position. I know Papa Smurf is super busy so I figured Id ask you all before mine is being built. I usually sleep right, but wanted to know if its possible to sleep left once in a while.

If it has an attached bug net, the shape of the bug net is asymmetrical. That determines the direction of lay while it is zipped on. If there is no attached bug net, there is no limitation on direction of lay.

Dream Hammocks have their left/right lay determined by the shape of the net/overcover. The tops are not diamond shaped, but rather parallelagram shaped.

Thank you, that helps. So if I go topless (no bug net, no overcover); Direction does not matter...

Randy will build your hammock with a left lay if you ask for it, but right lay is the default.

Thanks guys. I do understand the terminology of a right or left lay; Just didn't know what difference it made in the hammock because it doesn't have a footbox like Warbonnet. Knowing now that the actual shape of the hammock along with the bug net and over cover is what determines the lay; Makes more sense to me. I ordered the standard right lay, but it would be nice to switch once in a while. Shug and a few other guys seem to prefer the left I noticed. Guess I'll have to try it in one of my Dutch's hammocks. My Thunderbird will still be my trip goto hammock I hope...

You can try a left lay in your Dream Hammock, you just can't do it when the bugnet or topcover is on. THEY are what determine the symmetry, and only when they are on.
