    Hello From Iowa!

I figured it is time to stop lurking so much and become a little more active. I hope to contribute to and continue learning from this excellent community! So much helpful information.

It all started with the Yukon Outfitters deal on Woot at the end of 2012. Curiosity soon led to the hammock bug biting...hard! And I have done nothing to stop it so far :P

    My gear currently includes:
    • Yukon Outfitters Double Hammock (Cheap but effective!)
    • KAQ Jarbidge UQ
    • Synthetic sleeping bag for now (a nice TQ is in my wish list)
    • Marlin Spike Whoopie Kit from Arrowhead Equipment
    • Warbonnet Superfly (Tarp Pole Mod is coming soon)
    • Central Ridgeline with micro-biners (also from Arrowhead Equipment)
    • ENO Guardian Bug Net - Heavy and large but gets the job done.
    • I also have the Yukon Outfitters hammock with the built-in bug net
    • I built my own beast of a TurtleDog Stand but am now eagerly waiting for my Hammeck Stand to arrive!

I've recently moved to Eastern Iowa (from first the Southwest and then Central Iowa) and am excited to see what the area has to offer. Hoping to see (or perhaps I'll organize) a group hang in the area!

Love what this place has to offer and plan to stick around for some time.

    Cheers

Welcome to the forums from WV.
"Nothing could be more irrational than to give the people power and to withhold from them information, without which power is abused. A people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives. A popular government without popular information or the means of acquiring it is but a prologue to a farce or tragedy, or perhaps both." - James Madison

Welcome from a displaced Iowan currently living in western NC! Great to see some Iowa residents on the forum. My first hammock was also the yukon outfitters double from woot, and I also now have the netted version. My fiance and I will be up there in Iowa the week before june 13th (we're getting married in carroll). If theres a hang that week we may just have to drop by.
