Smith & Son's Brave D2 Fixed Blade Knife w/ Leather & Kydex Sheath

    SOLD!!

Up for sale is my well cared for and lightly used Smith and Son's Brave fixed blade knife with a 3.5" blade made of D2 Steel with OD Green Micarta Handles. The knife has a birthdate of 12/14, so it's less than 5 months old.

    Gideons Tactical Youtube Review

Included with the blade are various upgrades. First is a custom molded kydex sheet made with .06 kydex with #8 eyelets. I prefer paracord lashing (included) but the eyelet spacing is both 1" and 1.5" so you can use various attachment methods including small and large Tek-Loks. Matching OD Green paracord lanyard also included.

Second, the original machine stitching was removed from the sheath, stitch grooves were then cut and the sheath was stitched back together by hand using a saddle stitch with waxed thread. This results in a stronger stitches that are buried below the surface of the sheath so they're protected from abrasion and being cut. The stock sheath is very high quality made using 3 layers of 9 oz leather.

Third, the blade was sent out to Rob Bixby from "TheApostleP" where it received a precision polished edge using an Apex Edge Pro.

This is an absolutely awesome knife. I'm almost embarrassed to say but I've turned into an gram counting weight weeny and I simply can't bring myself to take the weight penalty of carrying a fixed blade knife on my trips. Even though the knife is only 4.2oz I have a tough time justifying carrying it, so I've decided to pass it along to someone who will use it.

The knife has been worn a few times out on day hikes but never really used beyond opening a few boxes and cutting a few apples. The blade has a little bit of light scuffing from the kydex sheath (it happens on any blade with kydex) and a small scuff the bottom of the micarta handle that was sanded out smooth (see pics).

    Specs:
    Grind: Flat Grind
Steel: D-2 w/ Forced Patina Finish
    Overall Length: 7 1/2"
    Blade Length: 3 1/2 "
    Blade Stock: 1/8"
Handle Material: OD Green Canvas Micarta
