    Tarp for 11' Argon

Looking for an opinion from the group. I'm coming back to hanging now that the kids are older and less inclined to sleep in a tight two person tent with dear old dad.

I had the WBBB as my prior hammock and am looking at the Dutch argon 11’ this time around.

When I had the BB I also had the edge tarp. Was comfortable with the coverage and loved the light weight.

what do you all think about only having an 11' tarp with an 11' hammock.

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to the first summertime hang here in Wisconsin!

11 ft. tarp works fine for 11 ft. hammock, though the Edge is a somewhat minimalist, fair-weather tarp. I doubt an extra ft. of coverage is gonna make much difference.

If you are using a ridge line the overall hang length of an 11 foot hammock should be under 10feet. I've hung in an 11 foot hammock under both a WL tadpole and a superfly, both work out just fine as long as you make sure everything is centered.

I run the 11' Hammock Gear Cuban fiber & 11' Warbonnet Mamajamba. Both cover my 11' tarps no problem. Been in plenty of rain and kept dry.

I prefer 11v tarps with 11' hammocks, as long as the tarp has doors. The Edge lacks doors, so I would use it only on hikes when no rain is expected.

Kelty Noah 12 if you aren't worried about weight. REI has that nice one year warranty.

If it's any help I use the Hennessy hex tarp with my Dutchware hammock.

I use the dutch 11 foot argon with 11 foot tarps.

Tarps I have used in the last couple years are the Wilderness Logics Tad Pole at 11' by 7.7' Then for nearly identical weight is the Arrowhead Equipment Shangri La tarp. It is cut so one end is 9'10" and the foot end 7'. So you get the extra coverage at the head end from the sides if you like. Both have kept me dry in hard rain.
