    Skeeter beeter pro hammock

Hey. I am new to hammocks and I'm about to purchase my first hammock. Wondering if anyone can shine some light on the skeeter beeter pro hammock. I am 6'3 225 lbs not looking to spend a lot of cash right out of the gate. I am tenter and have spent a lot of money on the the gear I have but am getting tired of sleeping on the ground. Any help I can't get to make this a better experience will be great. Thanks! can't wait to hear some suggestions.

It's a pretty good beginner hammock, longer than most. I hate the bugnet ridgeline but there is a mod for that.

I have several hammocks which 2 are SBP. Their good hammocks for the price. Their large hammocks & should accommodate you fine. A little heavy for backpacking. Study up on insulation. Watch Shug videos on YouTube. Be sure to use tree straps to protect the trees.

I'm 6'3" @ 235 lb i am very happy with my gtsp. I have about 40 or 50 hangs in it. Mods i have done are adding two more loops on top of netting in the middle of the existing loops, this help's pull the netting out of your face. They give you alot of cord for the netting but it looks like a power pole when set up. I used a little piece of the shock cord to tie the 3 loops together and attach to my ridgeline this works well. I think it's great hammock good luck.

Make sure it is the Skeeter Beater Pro. It replaced the Skeeter Beater which was shorter and had a lower weight capacity.

I didn't like my SBPro! The bug net tore easily and the way to deploy it wasn't thought out very well, so without modification it hung in my face. The body of the hammock was large and stretchy, so it tacoed badly with my large 300# frame, but you might not have that problem, being taller and lighter than me. Count on getting an UQ, because a pad REALLY slides around in it. It was comfy though.

Hello again. I purchased the skeeter beeter pro and set it up for the first time last night. I am very pleased so far, although I have nothing to compare it to besides my buddy's hennessy expedition , which seams to be very nice bit not big enough for me. I am planning a trip in 2 weeks so that will be the real test. Thanks again for all the help, I feel I am getting off on the right foot and I will probably not be using my tent for a while lol.
