Video: How to make a down quilt, very detailed, 1.5 hours long!!

I've had a number of requests from here and other places on the web to show how to make a down top quilt. I recently got a new camera I wanted to test the video features out on, so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and bring you along via video as I made a quilt.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGaHsvtfbFg

Hope this helps someone out there make themselves a nice new quilt for the upcoming backpacking Season! I'd love to hear from you if it did. Happy to field any questions/comments/suggestions anyone may have.

    Cheers,
    Kevin

Looking forward to the video. If possible, consider editing the title to specify it's a top quilt.

Where did you get the 950FP down?

    Thanks for sharing.
I have never done any down projects but this has been an inspiration so maybe ……….
A suggestion for the eyelets is to use at least 2 layers of fabric ( as a triangle) and sew it in with the hem for reinforcement. In my mind eyelets are easy to pull out of the fabric if it’s not reinforced.
If there is nothing left to learn it’s time to die.
    Live and learn.

I bought the down from Quest

I've confirmed with them that their source is indeed Allied and the WR coating is their newer Hyperdry. Good stuff, maybe the best down you can possibly get your hands on right now.

Thanks! Its a Sony A7R with the Zeiss 16-35 f4 lens. Really happy with it. I compressed the heck out of the video before uploading it to youtube, which is why it dosnt look so good. But the raw footage is really spectacular.

moderators: I'm getting a lot of messages on YouTube from people saying they wish they had seen this earlier. Any chance we can get this in the sickies sub forum?
