Dutch's kevlar straps and brecket hitch

I've recently fell in love with the brecket hitch and would like to lighten up with some kevlar straps, having never felt kevlar, is it hard or soft to the touch? Will it confirm to hold a nice hitch against amsteel loops? I worry it might be "crisp" and too hard across its width... Anyone have and use with a brecket hitch?

I would have thought amsteel would be too slippery for a sheet bend.

The Kevlar is quite soft and I would imagine it would hold a knot well. I haven't tried to tie it as I use buckles.

I use the Beckett hitch with my polyester tree straps and amsteel whoopie sling... It works, and I've never had a failure from the amsteel being too slippery.. I tie it using the webbing free end, as opposed to tying it using the amsteel line.
I think it could work with the Dutch Kevlar straps..

I was thinking of tying the amsteel to the webbing or a fixed loop in the webbing instead of tying the webbing to a fixed loop in the amsteel. I can see your way working.

The Kevlar straps are soft and hold a Marlin Spike Hitch well from my experience.

Dejoha demonstrated the Becket hitch at the last Texas hang and I don't see how it would not work with Kevlar straps.

I recently received some Kevlar straps from dutch and the Becket hitch works great. I am using it with am steel continuous loops. I also recently purchased dutch buckles, but find with a structural ridgeline the Becket hitch is easier (and slightly lighter).

Just bought a pair today too, 15 footers. Should cover pretty much anything I'd find ) no hardware, no extra any bits or anything else to forget. Super easy to "tie" super light...

This is similar to what I'm planning for my upcoming DIY hammock. I picked up some slightly worn Kevlar straps from my fire department (we get rid of it as soon as it shows ANY wear) that I cut to 6' and sewed a loop at one end. I tested it with some 3mm and 4mm climbing cord and a quick hitch and it worked like a charm! Bites hard and pops open when you pull the slippery loop. My hammock is going to have 15' of amsteel with a larks head through the channel and nothing on the other end because the quick hitch is so insanely easy to tie! No whoopies for me

So, in short, yes. Kevlar is awesome for knots.
