    Jarbridge Work for Taller Hammockers?

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to buy myself a Jarbridge underquilt. The price is right and the reviews are great. But I worry how much coverage I'll get as a 6'1, 260 lb. hammocker. What are the odds that I'll need something under my feet/legs if I want to stretch out? I tend to flop around quite a bit.

I have several Jarbiges and they work fine. I used a 1S on a AT section hike a few years ago. I am 6ft 2 and 275+ lbs. On the rare times I feel line I need some insulation under my feet, I throw a jacket down there. Some folks use a small pad.

I am 6'4". The Jarbidge (that's 3 different spellings in 3 posts ) hits me at about mid thigh. You most likely will want something for your lower legs and feet. One time my leg pad slid a little and opened about a 1 inch gap between the quilt and the pad. The cold spot was very noticeable (at 40 degrees) - I had to get up and re-adjust.

I'm 6'2" and have no problem with the Jarbidge. I had my topquilt overstuffed in the footbox and use a small pad if really cold.

You know, Gunner, I think that makes the most sense. The odds are good that if it's cold enough for me to really need the UQ, I probably have an extra pair of socks or a fleece or something to put under or even on, my legs.

That little gap made all of the difference, I bet! See, I hate stuff like that. Still, I've dealt with a pad sliding all around in my hammock in snow, I can deal with this.

A partial length quilt will work for anyone of any height just depends on how long of pad you'll need to cover your lower legs and feet.

I am same height and with in 10 pounds of your weight. I bought the new river long and I love it. I can lay completely flat on the diagonal and i have coverage to just past my foot. I am not real concerned with ounces and I didn't want to hassle with a pad. I do not regret the decession at all.

So Paul, do most people go partial-length for weight or price?
