I know it's a small place, but has anyone camped on it and have some recommendations?
The wife and I are going to pop on over there in a few weeks and wanted to do some hanging for a night or two.
Thanks a bunch

First I will say, you have great videos I love watching them. I was stationed there a few years back and left at the beginning of 2013. The camping is by permit only and can be purchased online. I just looked the site up and it's camping.ehawaii.gov that will give you some information and some pictures. Hanging a hammock shouldn't be a problem. I didn't see that it would be when I was there I just wasn't hanging then. Oahu isn't bad, more option for camping on the other islands though. As for as the permits go, they fill quick. And If you know for sure the dates I would suggest getting the permit a couple of weeks prior because the week of they usually are all taken. I hope that helps. Safe travels
Thanks for watching the videos Country Hang!
I am going to check out that site now. Thank you.
We are going to hit the other islands soon enough, we just had 6 days to kill and figured we'd jump on Space A and squeeze in a mini vacation.
Thanks again and I'll for sure have a video of this trip when we get back.

Malekahana Beach Campground is on the way from Kaneohe to the North Shore. Beaches, water, bathrooms. Highway 83. The town Laie is just south of this campground. Kahuku is the town just north of this campground. There are other camping sites along this road, and some have bathrooms and water. Some do not... Be sure to set at least a day in this area. Get to Haleiwa.
Take pics/videos.
Check you pms.
Thanks Tumbleweed.
We were actually just in Oahu 3 months and had the most fun when we got out of Waikiki. Haleiwa and Waialua were fantastic and that's the area we plan on staying at the majority of the time with our final night being at the Hale Koa so we can make sure we catch out flight. lol
Have you stayed at Malekahana Beach Campground before? I saw that in my research, but haven't been able to talk to anyone who has actually been there and curious what their review would be.

Send me a ticket, round-trip from Minneapolis. I'll be a stand-up guy and go over and scout it out for you. Yep, that is just the kind of guy I am.
Well, at least post the video and I'll continue to live vicariously.
Thanks

I saw you mentioned space A , If you are military connected I would check out Bellows AFB. nice beach and plenty of trees.
I'll ask my daughter as she lives there with my son-in-law. He is in charge of the MP's at Hale Koa. When we went to visit them in December there is a park close to them right on the beach that looked kind of cool: Kalaeloa Regional Park.
You are the adventurous type. Check out the stairway to heaven hike. I did this when I was there...one of the most amazing experiences. There is risk...but well worth it.
