Wish I would have read about the ideas of adding split rings/zip ties/etc.

I've got two hammocks and two sets of whoopie slings I bought from different vendors. My first set that I've used the most has a bead on it. When I got a second hammock and was setting it up, I didn't realize there wasn't any kind of stopper, and accidentally pulled the loop through. Good motivation to learn how to make my own I guess ...

Once you fish the loop out, you can bend a lock washer open, slip it over the loop, and bend it closed. Or use a split ring, but that would be a little heavier.

If it were to ever happen to you or anyone again, just open the amsteel up near the to ( by using something pointy to seperate the outer layer) , then pull from there. Once you have some line sticking out, it becomes easier to push it back up the inside. If it is the smaller lines line zing it you may need to use something to go thru the line you just pulled out.
I am to cheap to waste line. I have done it enough to figure a solution. Not sure if that makes me smart or just slightly less stupid.

Been there, done that. It was hopeless.

I have begun inserting a one inch long piece of Amsteel, with a bit of taper, into the adjustable loop. That fat section won't get sucked into the bury.

Then there's the perverbial bead on the adjustable loop.

I've had this happen before, but it wasn't a big deal due to having longer tree straps at the time. I used the continuous loop on my hammock and attached it directly to the marlin spike hitch at the very end of the tree strap. The other whoopie was my adjustment point. Worked good enough.

I used a piece of thin line that I tether the aluminum toggle with and get a "twofer". Toggles don't fly off and the loop doesn't get buried either. Not saying it's THE answer, but it works for me.
