Yes, you are correct. Winter top restores shelf.
I think you have your answer. XLC!!!!!

Correct. The shelf is built into the tc and also into the net. Without the covers off, you don't need the shelf. With the covers on, the shelf creates storage space.

I'm am no expert by far lol but you are correct, once you remove the bug net or top cover the shelf is gone and so is your foot box. Once removed the XLC turns into essentially the warbonnet traveler. Watch Shug's video he linked on the first page of this post, he shows you everything you need to know on the XLC, his videos are what got me into this in the 1'st place lol.
    Enjoy!

To cover the issue of the shelf missing with the cover or netting gone I made ridge line organizer out of noseem. Go with the XLC double if you are going to use a pad.

All good, I'm sure the XLC will be fine. I'm 6' 265 and I sleep great. I have room to "grow" but you will not go wrong with the WB
I have slept in a hammock on every continent from -20 to +128, under direct and indirect fire, from frost to fungus except Antarticia.... But give me time... Thank you Uncle Sugar!

The XLC is a great choice, I think you will be very happy with it. I am with mine.

Thanks for asking this question Ianitis and everyone's feedback. I'm in the same boat, 6'1"ish and 175. I want to fit in the WBBB just to save a few bucks. But it sounds like I should opt for the XLC for the best comfort.
