    6'-3" And 235

After doing more research I am looking at a Blackbird with double 1.1.

    Looks nice.

Videos were nice, but I know absolutely nothing about hammocks.

What I do know is I want a hammock that is very confortable, very light and I need bottom insulation for a December AT section hike.

So whats the most comfy hammock for the weight.
I am not interested in giving up comfort to save 2 oz.

Also want the lightest under insulation to go down to 15dF.

I was considering just 2 stacked foam pads in the sandwich underneath to take me down to 15dF.
What am I going to need there ??
I was thinking maybe two 3/8 blue pads would work and be pretty light but they need to be wide as I understand it so I guess I would need to order, but dont know where.

Could I do one full length and one torso length blue pad ??

Eventually I will probably have a down quilt made, but this will have to do for now due to slow work/funds .

Is a 1.25 oz wt. tyvek pea pod worth the weight ??

I'm your size and I got the Warbonnet 1.7 double based on Brandon's recommendation--you may want to do the same. I'm very happy with mine. If you want to save a few oz., you can order the line/strap suspension instead of the straps. Again, I did this and am quite pleased. You might also check out the Speer Pad Extender (SPE)--good way to use inexpensive insulation, comfortably. Do a search on it and all kinds of info will pop up. Good luck!

blue foam is no good, if you go with foam get something more efficient like minicell or evazote. 3/8" (might) get you to those temps, but you might need 1/2".

you can get minicel at www.foambymail.com under "closed cell foam"
