Lightbulb Floppy bug net, how to solve maybe?

I have seen several posts where floppy bug nets have been mentioned.
I am working on a new hammock with integrated bug net and during a test hang I got an idea how to solve the problem with a floppy bug net. I don’t know if it have been done and maybe it’s a crazy idea?

Hang the hammock with the sides staked out and the bug net closed.
Mark a X with pins symmetrical over the ridgeline.
Take the bug net to the sewing machine and sew some elastic band on the bug net in the in the X shape. The elastic band must be stretched while sewing!
The idea is when the elastic band is sewn in an X shape it will pull in 4 directions and the extra/floppy bug net will be pulled up in the X.

Its only an idea no plans do to it.

I would think that would work, makes sense to me. Great idea.
