Just dipping my toes I to hammock camping. I am a Assistant Scoutmaster and had a bruise on my hip two weeks ago and figured there has to be a better nights sleep while camping.

Howdy, and welcome to the forums
Always last to the camp site.
Welcome from Irmo. We've got an amazingly active group of campers here in SC that get together on the regular to spend time in the woods together, and even had a Scout troop join us for a hang a few weekends ago. Feel free to check Palmetto State Hangers out on Facebook and if you're in the area, you're invited to my birthday hang at Sesquicentennial State Park next weekend. Come see us!
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

Welcome from Charlotte.
I don't miss sore shoulders and an aching neck.
Hi!
I'm also a new member from SC (Columbia area) looking forward to getting off the ground next time I'm in the woods. I saw a couple of hammocks at a campsite a few months ago while tent-camping on the Foothills trail and wondered why I'd never thought of that before...
Fast forward about a month and I've already built myself a pipe stand in the backyard to hang my eno jungle nest from. Of course I did everything backwards and found this site after I had bought my first hammock! After looking at some of the DIY threads, I think I've got my work cut out for me. Either way I think I've found the right place to hang out.
