What to do on top while I wait?

Check out Wildernesslogics.com. Their summer series top & under quilts are priced well. I think both are around $300. You can get the top for pretty cheap. I'm planning on getting the set as soon as I can afford it.

I've been eyeing those quilts. But I'm in the process of replacing my backpack, so an underquilt and a backpack is all I can swing this year. So, it's like I said, I need something simple and cheap, even if a bit heavier, in the meantime.

I saw that "alternative" thread, and that's given me some ideas. We'll see. I want to go out in the next week or so, at least for a couple nights. Going will force my hand in one direction or another.

Use whacha got. A sleeping bag rotated 90* and left 75% unzipped in TQ fashion works fine, if excessively bulky. Even a blanket will suffice. Whatever you do, don't waste money on an intermediate expedient if you're planning on a TQ in the long run.
