Atlas Straps or Whoopie Slings

I am looking to grab an ENO SingleNest for a second hammock when the family is out and something my three year old daughter can thrash about in.

I use whoopie slings on my dream hammock and have never used atlas straps. Is the convenience of the atlas straps worth it especially when there are people using it who have no idea what whoopie slings are, or should I go whoopie slings and just always make sure I set it up.

This isn't going to be used for backpacking so weight is no issue. Curious what you guys would do.

Even if weight was an issue, there are folks on here who swear by Atlas/Python straps. Have you thought about Cinch Buckles from Dutch, or Cinch bugs? There's a new doohickey from BIAS that works with straps and a continuous loop on your hammock. I'm not dogging the Atlas straps, if that's what you like, use them. I just don't like them. P.S. I vote for whoopies!

Another vote for whoopies, here!

My reasoning is personal, however. I like having some knots to tie and I made them myself.

I have tried the HH knot's, Atlas straps, Whoopies and webbing/dutch clips. All a matter of personal preference and I can see why everyone has their favorite. I prefer webbing/cinch buckles and dutch clips. There are cinch buckles on my hammocks and I just move the webbing to the hammock in use.

Atlas straps for the setup you are describing. They may decide to set it up in the yard while you're working. Atlas are easy as you know. Make sure you get the atlas and NOT the slap straps. Atlas is polyester slaps are nylon and both by ENO.....go figure. I learned the hard way. All that said my preference is cinch buckles. I do have another hammock on whoopies as well.

for just an extra hammock that us completely fool proof...go with atlas straps. Simple and very effective.

For "thrashing about in" I would definitely recommend the straps, I just wouldn't feel comfortable personally with 2 or 3 kids bouncing around with a tightly strung hammock (that's how I did it as a kid) and only Whoopi slings to hold them up. That being said I use whoopis for my camping hammock and love them, just wouldn't let anybody go jumping or swinging high in it like I used to as a kid in the backyard haha.
