Glad to see you updating your site, Risk. You ever find a way to de-Spam your wiki?

    HAAHAHAAHA...that's funny.

Risk had a hammock wiki on his site for a while...like Wikipedia, but strictly for hammocks. It kept getting spammed, so someone would just put a bunch of junk in there...advertisements, porn links, junk characters, etc.

Risk your site is great. It is a must read for any hammock camper.

    Thumbs up

First off, great site Risk and thanks for doing it! I've been checking your site out for a few years as I consider the various ways of hammocking. Like many others, I've made a TestHammock from the suggestions at your site. I've only recently begun to put together a true wilderness hammock setup for a summer/fall trip and that's why I'm a new member of hammockforums . This forum wasn't even here last time I was looking around and it's certainly appreciated. I'm still looking for that perfect bug-net setup, but I'll rig something up for the summer and see what comes to mind. I'm also trying to rig up a cord suspension that's simple and light, yet adjustable and would hook to Garlington-type tree huggers. I'll should have plenty of time this summer to think and experiment.

One thing I'd love to see at your site, Risk, is some idea of what you are using today on your hammock setup(s). I realize from my own experience that most of us have too little time and too many higher priorities to always be updating websites. It would be awesome, though, if every year or so you gave an update on your hammock system and ideas or reported on how well the existing systems were working and holding up. Even if you just posted a text page, that would be great. Pics would be icing on the cake if they showed something not already covered.

Those of us that frequent this forum and elsewhere generally have a good idea of the current trends in backcountry hammocking, but when one is out of the loop for awhile (as I often am due to other demands and interests), they can go to Risk's or, more recently, JustJeff's site to find out what people have been brainstorming and using of late. Stuff gets buried in forums pretty quickly, so it really helps to have either sticky forum articles or personal archives like Risk's and JustJeff's to check out.

Anyway, thanks for all the great hiking, hammocking, motorcycle, etc information, Risk.

    Good travels!

kank, that's a good idea about having a place to high light the latest innovations in hammocks. maybe someone here can see a good way to do that on this site.
