What material is your bugnet made of?

If the yarn itself is treated then it will not take dye. If the bugnet was treated after weaving there may be a chance that it would take dye but is not recommended. If it is untreated then dyeing should not be a problem. However it is best to use a multistep process and rinse clear between each step. Finish with a water-white vinegar swish & dip to set and then a few extra rinses until it runs clear. The multi-step process helps avoid overdying which leads to bleeding and crocking (colour rubbing off) and patchy fading.

Depending on the material, the dyeing process may change the texture of the bugnet.
