Found out I needed a different pillow for back than I did for side sleeping. I was of course over thinking it. I carry a small fleecie on most trips. folded up down to about 1' x 2', it works perfect when on my back. Probably only gives me about 1/2" padding, but also helps keep my shoulders and neck warm. When I roll over on to either side, I fold it in half once more and it's perfect. I sleep at home every night like that, and just kind of do it in my sleep while shifting positions.

I've never found a pillow that suited me as well in a hammock.

I just have a cheesy ENO Pro pillow that I picked up as an afterthought on the cheap and it turned out to be great.

I know for me the stuff sack with clothes had to go. Just didn't work at all.

I'm a side sleeper and I spent a small fortune on different pillows. I finally made my own from an extra pillow we had. A mini pillow if you will. My wife even made me a mini pillow case for it. It's a little heavy and a little bulky but it was the only thing that works for me.

i bought a $10 'camp pillow' from the walmarket, but i took all the stuffing out of the pillow and pillow case and filled the stuff sack with it, tied a long chunk of paracord through the drawcord channel with a bow line and then a bowline on the other end to larks head around the toggle on my head end. my pluq design calls for shock cord tabs at the head and foot ends to keep the pluq askew-but-under-me whilst i sleep on my diagonal, so i loop the pillow-cord around that connection point on my structural ridgeline. seems complicated, but its perfect for me especially when the pillow bails during a scratching session or whatever night movements i'm making.

I've been using the inflatable travel pillow from WM for 4 years fulltime. The trick for me was to not fully inflate. It fits over my left shoulder. When on my back one leg is under my head and when I roll to my left side the center is. This gives just the right amount of lift for each position. Might be a little heavy at 3.5 oz and not very durable, on the 4th one in 4 years, but at less than $5 it works for me every night.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

My stuff sacks are so far keeping my doodads organized on my BB shelf. My favorite is a small, very lightweight fleece blanket - more of a lightweight lap throw, really. Takes up very little space, doubles as a throw or underpad or extra bottom layer or lightweight top blanket, and I like the material against my face/ears - it's quiet and soft and also washable. It bunches up nicely to provide just a little support for my neck. I've also used a sweatshirt or jacket successfully but they do tend to get all bunched up somewhere awkward during the night.

I use the one I bought from HG and love it. Just the right size and packs down fairly small.

I too use a standard inflatable travel pillow. I got it from Amazon. The 'U' shaped one advertised for air travel. It weighs, but packs small. I use it upside down, or sideways depending what is comfortable at the moment.
