Can we suggest a trail name...Steamy Pants?
That's mean Cannibal!
It's been a nice 90+ degrees outside. There is a severe cold front that is supposed to move through next week and drop the temps dramatically...they are calling for mid to low 70's. I might have to get more Speer down and a wearable underquilt or a Selk bag

Yea...thanks for rubbing it in, Cannibal!
The only frost I've seen lately has been clinging to the side of a beverage can!

So, I stand on my backporch with my coffee steaming away in my underpants. QUOTE]
That sounds just fine for us folks here in Lancaster County! You know....like pour into the mixing bowl the jar of syrup..

Woke up this morning to a nice chill in the air. Air temp was at around freezing. Couple inches of snow on the rocks. Ground snow is rapidly melting from the warm ground surface. Took the above shot just as the wind started kicking in and the sky starting clearing. Snow blowing off the trees made it feel and look like you were experiencing a blizzard. Winds picked up to a steady 15mph with gust up to 30mph.
Best time of the year for hiking and backpacking up here. No bugs, no people, "endless" trails meandering through Federal, State, County and Conservation Reserve forests to lose yourself in the Northwoods. Pretty much limitless hammock stealth/backcountry camping opportunities. Warm September resulted in colors just reaching their peak this past week inland. Here along the coast colors are just starting to fully develop.
Bit blurry image. Hand held at ~1/15sec.
