Just a note from my experience with spray glue. Unless you're only planning on using this hammock 6 or 7 times, don't do it. I've had bad results with it holding up over time. You'd be better off (in my opinion) with stitching it onto the hammock fabric. Just sew lines 6" inches apart both ways for a box pattern. That keeps it in place for the long haul.

Perhaps you'll have better luck with spray adhesive than I did, but my recommendation is to avoid it for something like this.

What if you made a nylon hammock (or whatever), and then wrapped the bottom with fleece, so that it over lapped the sides a bit? You'd be laying on nylon, but you might still get the warmth of the fleece, and could feel it on the sides... (just wouldn't be laying directly on it)?

    Just a thought.

Dried glue sounds a bit uncomfortable to lie on.

That was my thought, Too, the fleece wouldn't be compressed.

If you could lay hands on fleece with Windshear, or something similar, you'd really have something.

You've got a good point. Box stitching would work, I like the idea of fleece against my skin.

As long as you're sleeping "commando", I agree.

I would think, however, that if you're sleeping in any kind of clothing, a fleece lining would be pretty "grabby", and make any movement difficult. This has been my experience with fleece or flannel lined sleeping bags.

Any updates? I have been thinking about this idea also so i can get away from having a pad inside the hammock.

heres my solution to this now that the weather is cold:

    Fleece footy pajamas!

my family cracks up at it but its warm and comfy. I dont have to worry about keeping a blanket around me in the home hanger when its a bit chilly.

Heh, those actually look pretty nifty! But then again, I'm the guy who was sitting around the fire at the Northern hang in polar bear print fleece pants...

I used to have those when I was a kid and loved them.
I didn't know they made them for adults!
