    HG Burrow 20 question

Buying an HG Burrow 20 and would like a little input on ordering options. Standard or wide? Sewn or snaps? Extra fill? What are your thoughts? Thanks, BK

What is your height and weight? Will you be using it on the ground at all, or only in a hammock?

I'm 5'11" and have always bought the standard UQ. I have a 20* Phoenix, 40* Phoenix, and 0* Incubator.

I am 5'9" and weigh 160 lbs. I will use it in my hammock only. I do not own an under quilt yet, but will likely get one before next fall.

    I can offer this:

I am 6'2" and 275-285lbs. Broad shoulders. I went with a long and wide 20° Burrow and wish I would have just gotten the standard size or maybe just a wide. It is huge. I have so much extra material when laying in my hammock with it. When ordering, I overlooked that when you are in your hammock you are not your full height since your body is bowed a bit. You would probably be more like 5'3"-5'6" in your hammock. Don't get the long. I think you would regret it.

As far as the wide goes, I like being able to wrap myself up pretty good in it so I don't mind the wide as much, but it does make it bulkier.

If you don't plan to ever open it up to use as a couch throw or something I would get the sewn footbox. I got the snaps but I never unsnap it for fear of tearing the fabric. Also, it's easy enough, maybe easier, to just pull your feet out of the footbox if you get too warm rather than open the footbox.

I'd recommend standard width and sewn footbox. It will be plenty wide for you (you're almost the same size as me, and mine is) and the snaps aren't that useful in most situations.

I have both sewn and snaps. Sewn is warmer when the temps begin to drop. Snaps allow me to vent and extend the comfort range for warmer but can be drafty when cold. I stack them for very cold. If in doubt, get the sewn.

Mine are standard width. When used in my hammock they are perfect. I also use them with a pad when tenting. During those times I wish I had a wide. If you will ever use it on the ground, consider wide.

I do not overstuff. I figure, if they were supposed to have more down then Adam would have designed them that way.

    Good Luck
