Ok I was inspired by this idea and fired up the old thread injector and made myself a fronkey with an integral stuff sack. I also attempted to solve some of the problems you had with yours.
So here is the bag with the net in it it is a cone shaped bag as you dicussed with the narrow end lined with red grosgrain this helps hold the tube open the blue cord is sewn to the back of the bag at the mitten hook and runs through the tube and has a spliced eye on the end which is clipped to the mitten hook

To install on the hammock remove the webbing from the bucles at one end of your hammock suspension un-clip the blue line from the mitten hook and girth hitch the loop to the continous loop of the hammock suspension then pull the suspension through the tube of the stuff sack. replace the webbing in the buckle.

Now open up purple the drawstring on the sack and pull the net out over the hammock tighten yellow drawstring to secure it. Pull the sack inside out towards the opposite end of the hammock and tighten the purple drawstring to secure the opposite end.
