I managed to find about 2 dozen that hadn't exploded already - any idea how many I need for a full length UQ? Would rather have the stuffing before I start the project?

Hey gang - I've followed this thread but forget if this question has been address, and if so what the result was.
Is there a problem with using exploded cattail heads? Is there any reason to not use the fluff from a head that has gotten to this point?
Thanks

I don't think they should be any different than the ones that are ready to pop.
We're still doing testing so nobody knows how well this really works or how long it will last ... or how much you will need!
Lots of testing to do - if you can, do some testing yourself - and let us know what you find!

Well, I was hoping that 1.1 wal-mart ripstop would be cattail down proof, so I filled up a stuff sack made from it. It held pretty good, but I had several escapees. So will have to delay my project til I get some better material.
Dryer lint is highly flammable but never seems to catch fire in my dryer...
A real quick way to test them would be to do the Garlington Bag O' Feathers trick...
Or, send me a couple and I'll sew up something real quick... (Can't find any in the desert that is San Diego)
