Hi all,
From what I've seen here, it's clear this is a diverse, welcoming & very experienced community.
I have been canoe / tent camping for many years & recently discovered how much kinder hammocking is to aging bones. With no prior hammocking experience, I naively jumped in with both feet last summer by leaving the tent at home & took my shiny new Hennessy to Algonquin for a weeklong solo interior trip ... sink or swim, eh? Probably no surprise to anybody here that despite several humbling mistakes, the experience surpassed my expectations.
Still lots to learn and hoping to connect & possibly trip with others in my area, particularly since my wife has grown less than keen on my solo forays into bear country.
Also wanted to thank the many members who so unselfishly share their knowledge to bring us new folks into this lifestyle. Learn as much from the 'fails' as the successes! Hopefully I'll know enough one day to repay the favour.
Have a great summer,
Jamie
