    Cat Cut Hammock?

    Hello all..

My wife was noting the other day that she would prefer a hammock that cradled her a bit better than most Rectangular cut hammocks do (yeah, she's delicate, LOL). Well these comments led me to wonder if anyone has made a cat cut hammock?

I was thinking that if the long sides were cut similar to a CatTarp, with inward curving parabola, and the ends were cut to an outward curving Parabola, then when the ends are gathered for whipping, the resulting hammock shape would make a natural pea-pod shape, rather than the flat down the center / saggy sides of alot of rectangular hammocks.

Any thoughts? I'd like some feedback from those with experience making Hammocks before I even think about making one myself (I am the worst seamster on the planet)

I tried with a curve on the ends on a homemade hammock I made. It tightened the sides some which was what I was shooting for. I don't know if it would cradle her more or less though. Try more sag. That will cause the hammock body to be a bit loser and hug around the body more maybe.

Pan just wants to keep us in suspense...

Hmmmm......cat cut sides with a HH roll whip.....that would help with saggy sides and reduce weight a little bit....
