One night is better than none! I took a short hike down to the lake (Lake Michigan) a couple of nights ago just so I could get out and hang. I was there only about two hours but is was nice to get out.

Hey everyone. im back safe and sound. no thanks to mother nature. the 2.5 hour (under calm conditions) turned into 4 lots of wind and white caps on the lake. i was with my brother and his wife. so i had a canoe all to myself with a kayak paddle. we got to our campsite and got it all set up. everything that night went amazing. i slept so good in my hammock. i was keeping my brother awake with my snoring haha. my 2 year old nephew loved rolling around in my hammock. i had it all zipped up so he wouldnt fall out. both my brother and his wife laid in it and she just about fell asleep instantly it was so comfy. so the next day we were leaving. same routine. the wind was fighting me and so were the waves. the blisters all over my hands from canoeing what i figured about 4+ miles one way by myself. it was rough to say the least. the waves were so bad coming out, they were coming over the sides and the front of the canoe. It filled up fast and i was about 10 feet off shore and it sunk. i only lost my dads old Kabar knife. which he didnt care. so i packed all of my wet stuff on my back and hiked through the woods to come out in the channel were we put in. up and down ravines had to guess it was about half a mile. as im carrying about 95 pounds worth of stuff. my brother who weighs half of what i do could easily navigate the canoe through the water and took almost none in the boat. so all in all camping was great. the canoeing..sucked. ive got blisters all over my hands and my shins are ground about down to the bone from getting tripped and finding rocks and logs with them. i dont wanna be that guy, but next time (july) im taking an actual boat with a motor. im too big for canoes =( i do have pics to share as soon as i get them from my sis-in-law
